French Fry Seasoning
How to Make French Fry Seasoning
If you are like most people today, you probably have a more exotic taste when it comes to your food, and this likely includes French fries. Well you don’t have to settle for simply putting salt on you fries when there is French fry seasoning.
Making French fry seasoning isn’t difficult at all; nearly anyone that has a few spices in their kitchen can make this seasoning, and the best part about it is that you can change the ingredients to suit your taste.
- To make your own French fry seasoning you’ll first want to find a container that you can keep it in. The best thing to use for this is an old spice container that you are no longer using. Even if this container still has some spice left in it, you can still use it if you throw the old spice out. Take out the screen at the top of the container and then put it away until you are ready for it.
- Find a small mixing bowl and a measuring spoon. In the bowl you will need to put one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of pepper, along with a teaspoon of cayenne pepper and paprika. With a fork you’ll want to combine these ingredients until they look well blended. If the mixture appears too light you can always add more pepper or paprika.
- Find a small funnel and pour the mixture into the spice container and replace the screen at the top. You may want to add a label to the container to identify what is inside. You will probably want to keep this French fry seasoning near your salt and pepper as it goes well with a number of different types of foods, including baked potatoes, hamburgers and other types of meats.
This is a basic recipe for making French fry seasoning, but there are a number of variations to this type of seasoning. One variation of this seasoning is the Cajun style fry seasoning. This seasoning is basically the same, though you will add a little more cayenne pepper, and some garlic and onion powder. The Cajun French fry seasoning has more of a kick to it, but is really delicious.
Another variation of the French fry seasoning is to use the same recipe, but instead of using regular paprika you can use smoked paprika and a couple of teaspoons of sugar. This recipe makes fries taste smoky, tangy and sweet at the same time.
If you are not one to make your own seasonings, you will still be able to use French fry seasoning on your homemade fries, as there are a number of different types of this seasoning available at grocery stores. If you are unable to find the seasoning that you want, there is always the option of shopping online, where you will find a number of different brands of seasoning for fries.
One way to use French fry seasoning is to add it to a little flour and coat the fries before you fry them. This cooks the seasoning right into the fries and is very tasty. Just like with traditional fry seasoning, you can find a recipe online or create your own recipe.
No matter how you look at it, French fry seasoning is a great way to spice up ordinary fries.
